As part of becoming a charity in December 2009, the Friends adopted a new Constitution and Objects.
The Objects of the charity are:
- to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the natural and physical environment of Richmond Park (the 'Park'), and its peace and natural beauty for the benefit of the public and future generations, including by seeking to limit the adverse effects on the Park of policies, developments and activities which may damage the attributes of the Park set out in (2) below; and
- to advance the education of the public (i) in relation to the Park's status as a National Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation and a Conservation Area and (ii) generally in relation to the conservation, protection and improvement of the Park.
The Objects reflect our focus on protecting the Park and on its peace and natural beauty, including its wildlife. We do not promote the interests of any particular user group.
The remainder of the Constitution covers such items as membership, trustees, general meetings, financial requirements and rules of the charity. Click below to view the detailed Constitution, which covers 10 pages, and the Friends' Rules.
