Winter exposes all the beauty of the structure of trees, which is obscured in other seasons, and stumps of dead trees can even appear to take on shapes of animals or monsters!  Fortunately, snow, ice, frost and mist, and rising and setting sunlight are not needed to take stunning photos of trees in all their winter splendour!
