What we got up to at  Ham Fair

 Saturday 11th June 2022

Friends of Richmond Park Discoverers were excited to attend Ham Fair last Saturday. Under a green gazebo the volunteers had arranged lots of activities for young people to explore! The most popular was badge making and not only was this super fun but the badges were environmentally friendly also! Check out just some of the badges that were made on the day! Can you spot yours?

The stall also had lots of artefacts where the children were given the chance to observe and hold these objects plus learn lots of new facts from the very knowledgeable volunteers. We had real deer antlers on display which proved to be very popular and everyone enjoyed learning about their extraordinary biology. We also had two different birds nest along with a tray that showed you all the different materials that are needed to make one! We also had Saplings and tree slices which also gave a great insight to the visitors all about the life of a tree! It was a real treat to be able to observe all of these items close up and both the adults and the children found it all very fascinating.

We got to meet lots of new people at the Ham fair and we wanted to welcome all the new families that signed up to the Discoverers on the day! We look forward to meeting you all soon!

Here are a couple more pictures for you to enjoy!
