On Sunday 5th March, 80 Friends of Richmond Park volunteers scoured the Park for litter. They broke into seven teams, fanning-out over different areas. The Chief Executive of Keep Britain Tidy, Allison Ogden-Newton, and her family joined-in. A very large haul of litter was picked: hard work by all on a blustery (and wet at times) day. Richmond Park has now had its first ever total Spring Clean.
Massive thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work, to The Royal Parks for their support, and to Daniel Heasum's Pembroke Lodge for the much-needed refreshments afterwards.
Supported by contract cleaning staff from The Royal Parks, and coinciding with Keep Britain Tidy’s national 'Great British Spring Clean' weekend, this may well become an annual event.
