The planned new history and heritage centre will be located, it is hoped, in a custom-designed new building near Pembroke Lodge, replacing dilapidated buildings in the area currently used for staff care parking.
The new centre will house an expanded visitor centre, along with an exhibition and meeting area and space for local community and education groups. The building will provide research and storage facilities for the Hearsum Collection of around 5,000 historical items relating to the Park's heritage, including prints, paintings, photographs and postcards.
