The Visitor/Information Centre Volunteers celebrated their 10 year anniversary 2007- 2017 at  the Belvedere Suite, Pembroke Lodge, on Monday 2nd October

It was a thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and entertaining few hours, with short talks from Daniel Hearsum, Simon Richards and Ron Crompton. Eleven volunteers who have been at the Visitor Centre since it opened, were presented with long service certificates and a special 10 year FRP volunteer badge, which was much appreciated.

There were exhibits of photos and facts from the 10 years and also memories from Sheila Hamilton and Brian Baker, who established the Information/Visitor Centre, and some of the original volunteers.

The short version of the film Richmond Park – National Nature Reserve was shown and then the Sir Trevor/Sir David interview (from the launch at the Royal Geographical Society) was screened for the first time. Both were hugely enjoyed by all the audience.

It concluded with a splendid lunch, courtesy of Daniel Hearsum. We can now look forward to the next 10 years, with the Centre and its volunteers continuing to flourish and provide a valuable service for the many visitors to the park.

Lots of good memories shared and enjoyed together.
